The CXO300 diesel outboard engine is quite simply revolutionary. For the first time, the F1 concept of opposed piston architecture has been applied to a marine diesel outboard engine. The result is the most powerful, professional commercial diesel engine ever developed, with levels of efficiency and reliability to match.

Patented Opposed Piston Diesel (OPD) enables the four-cylinder, eight-piston supercharged 2-stroke CXO300 to achieve 1HP/KG - double the amount of a standard diesel outboard engine.

The simplicity of the design requires fewer parts; meaning less weight, less maintenance and less risk of failure. The perfect balance of the engine significantly reduces vibrations. Eliminating lubrication breakdown also prevents cylinder degradation and power loss.

As you'd expect from an engine designed for professional use, the CXO300 diesel outboard engine will also endure the most unforgiving marine conditions. A tough build and the reduced number of parts mean longer service intervals of around 1,200 hours and zero downtime in between. Oil and filter changes can be carried out without dropping the leg or dry-docking your vessel, while off-the-shelf propellers and minimum tool requirements also serve to minimise the time and cost of maintenance.

Centrifugal supercharger

In addition to a central fuel injector for optimal combustion, a centrifugal supercharger delivers greater fuel efficiency and is robust against water and salt ingestion.

Anti-corrosion systems

The CXO300 diesel outboard engine is predominantly oil cooled, with minimised internal surface area in contact with salt water. The lightweight aluminium alloys are protected by anodising and electrocoating. Paints developed with marine coating experts protect the external surfaces for the life of the outboard.
